Admissions Representative


SMIHA has an opening for an Admissions Representative. The Admission Representative is responsible for managing and directing the admissions & recruitment process. Some responsibilities of this position include: facilitating a positive relationship with interested persons, local high schools and other community centers; managing the inquiry process and responding to leads & referrals; and ensuring appropriate paperwork supporting the student’s enrollment upon admission.


  • Provide accurate and thorough information about the school & programs to interested prospective students (leads) to allow them to make educated decisions on their future education & career path
  • Meet weekly and monthly quotas
  • Make prompt and effective contact with new lead inquiries
  • Convert qualified new lead inquiries into enrolled students using prompt follow-up practices, excellent customer service, and the prescribed admissions practices trained
  • Manage and effectively organize lead activity to allow for prompt contact and efficient follow-up
  • Generate personally developed leads through daily interactions outside of school
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships leading to possible recruiting avenues (i.e. high school guidance departments)
  • Recommend prospective students for either acceptance or denial of admission to the school using established processes
  • Adhere to established admissions policies, processes/procedures, and forms & ensure that all new, re-enrolled, and/or transfer student admissions requirements and paperwork is completed, corrected, and documented prior to their start date.
  • Work closely with the Financial Aid Director to help prospective students understand their financial obligations and payment options for tuition resulting in a clear and achievable plan


  • Tuesday-Friday 10:00am – 6:30pm
  • Saturday 8:30am – 5:00pm

Required Skills & Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree

2-3 years sales experience

Required Skills & Competencies

VA Cosmetology License

Current VA cosmetology license. Current VA Instructor license preferred

Excellent Organization

Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills. Skills in teamwork, and documentation

Solid work history with verifiable references
