Now you know how great it is to be a stylist, right? But how do you find the time to make the career change? In today’s world, we are so busy with maintaining our responsibilities, how on earth are we supposed to find the time to attend school for this new career? Well that’s the question I hope to answer with the step-by-step guide on how to change your life by doing something you love.
Step 1: Know your time
Time management is extremely important in trying to balance your life. First, look at your life schedule (work, family, etc.) and understand where you could make the time to attend school. Then sit down with our Admissions Rep to discuss our evening and flexible schedule options.
Step 2: Customize your schedule
Customize the days and times to attend school that fit your life.
For example: you have to pick up your kids from school. So you selected: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, and all day Saturday. Boom, now you have your schedule that fits your life and allows you to maintain your responsibilities while advancing your career. This is just an example, there are countless schedule combinations you can choose from to customize. Don’t worry, nothing is set in stone.
Step 3: Learn at Sylvain Melloul International Hair Academy!
Attend the schedule that you selected and start learning! And then continue to learn some more by servicing clients on our professional salon floor. Then continue to learn, and learn some more.
Step 4: Plan your career goals and go after them
Part of the program at SMIHA is professional and business development. This includes career planning, resume writing, interviewing, marketing, and building a clientele among many other important business lessons.
Step 5: Finish the program
Attend on your own time, finish at your pace.
Step 6: Get your license
Don’t worry, we prepare you for your exam.
Step 7: Change your life
With your new career you can be happy making other people happy.
